Shoot to Kill

  • Sidney Poitier, one of film's most distinguished and acclaimed actors, returns to the screen after a decade-long absence in this must-see, action-filled thriller. When a cunning murderer vanishes into the rugged mountains of the Pacific Northwest, pursuing FBI agent Warren Stantin (Poitier) must exchange familiar city streets for unknown wilderness trails. Completely out of his element, Stanti
TIM ALLEN AND KIRSTIE ALLEY STAR IN THIS HYSTERICAL COMEDY ABOUTTWO MANHATTAN SOCIALITES WHO ARE ON THE RUN FROM THE I.R.S. FORCED TO HIDE OUT IN AMISH COUNTRY, THEY SOON DISCOVER THATHARD WORK IS FAR MORE DIFFICULT THAN DOING HARD TIME.Tim Allen and Kirstie Alley are New York scammers on the lam from the IRS--they got framed by their slimy accountant, Wayne Knight of Seinfeld--so they hide out as fake Amish farmers in Intercourse, Pennsylvania. As parodies of Witness go, For Richer or ! Poorer can't compete with the Woody Harrelson-Bill Murray flick Kingpin, by the creators of Dumb & Dumber. Allen and Alley are directed by the creator of McHale's Navy. But wait, come back! The true test of talent is a capacity to romp right through weak material, and while this story is hopelessly lame and formulaic, Allen and Alley are credible candidates for the clown prince and princess of broad TV comedy. When somebody wonders how come alleged Amish guy Tim Allen has no beard, Kirstie says, "Lice." Of course, his face has no lice on it either, so Kirstie adds, "Minute lice!" --Tim AppeloAmerica's real-life answer to Bridget Jones! Kirstie Alley has captured our hearts on screen and now she is poised to do it again in print as she laughingly explores our obsession with fat, food, love, sex, beauty and weight loss. "Dear Diary, Decided to write book today. Thought am good writer, am smart gal, have interesting sex-filled (lie) life. Though! t can write about men, life, love, family, food, sex and fatas! sedness. Thought can share stories with tiny-butted and big-butted alike. Can tell people why fat, why (was) cokehead, why traffic jams and herbal laxatives don't mix, and why suede pants and sprinklers have same rule...More important..can show world how life is beautiful and funny, no matter size of butt."The increasing girth of Kirstie Alley's rear end has figured prominently (pun intended) on many a tabloid cover in recent years. At the peak of her career ("Cheers"), of course, her butt was indeed at its smallest. It's no surprise that she therefore sums up her life philosophy this way: one's level of happiness tends to be inversely proportional to the size of one's posterior.

With extremely salty language on par with what you might hear in a 50 Cent song, Alley has penned a self-deprecating Hollywood tell-all in the disguise of "note-to-self"-style diary entries. With many apologies to Bridget Jones, we learn that Alley is a former cocaine addict who once participated in ! the snorting of a six-foot-long trail of powder at a party. (She's says she's currently a Scientologist and credits L. Ron Hubbard with curing her of her narcotic addiction, as well as her issues with food.) We also learn--for better or worse--that she has the hots for John Travolta, Kid Rock, and Ben Affleck, and that she blames her weight gain for a super-extended period of unplanned celibacy.

As crass as she is (she kisses and tells, even including the sordid details of her losing her virginity in the front seat of a Chevy Impala), it's hard not to feel sympathetic for Alley. She admits that following a miscarriage in her third month of pregnancy and subsequent diagnosis of infertilityĆ¢€"which were also broadcast in the tabloids--her weight started ballooning. And as much as she dishes about Hollywood actors such as Tim Matheson (of Animal House fame), she has the decency to leave Parker Stevenson, her ex-husband and father of their two adopted children, ! out of the gossiping. Even so, overall, this feels like a stra! ngely ex tended endorsement of Dianetics. --Erica JorgensenFrom the super-stoic Vulcan Lt. Saavik in Star Trek II, to the super-sexy and neurotic barkeeper Rebecca Howe on Cheers, to her real-life role as an overweight and aging actress trying to revive her Hollywood career, Kirstie Alley has been through it all. With unprecedented access into Kirstie's world, A&E follows the triumphs and tribulations of the actress, author, inventor, and mother as she navigates constant media scrutiny, an ongoing battle with weight loss, single parenthood, the reinvention of her career and a return to the dating scene. From the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles to the peaceful seclusion of her home in Wichita, Kansas, Kirstie Alley's Big Life provides an unabashed look into Kirstie's world as the five-foot-eight firecracker sets out to lose 90 pounds - all while producing a feature film, patenting multiple inventions, launching a weight-loss program and raising her two teenage children! : Lillie, who dreams of becoming a designer, and True, an aspiring musician. With the help of her family and friends, including a sassy live-in assistant, a recruited chubby-buddy, and a host of fellow celebrities, Kirstie is ready to reclaim her life. Will she get the last laugh?

Loosely based on Kirstie Alley's real life struggles, this unscripted reality /comedy hybrid follows a semi-fictional film and TV star, in an ongoing attempt to find work and love in the cruel environment of Hollywood. Kirstie comically contends with an unforgiving public and media in the wake of her struggles with weight.SALEM WITCH TRIALS - DVD MovieKirstie Alley ( Cheers ) knocks 'em deadliterallyand then becomes hysterically hysterical in this laugh-out-loud funny comedy which co-stars Bill Pullman (Independence Day), Carrie Fisher (When Harry Met Sally), Jami Gertz ! ( Ally McBeal ), Scott Bakula ( Enterprise ), Sam Elliott (Fat! al Beaut y) and Ed O'Neill ( Married With Children )! All Marjorie (Alley) ever wanted was to become a writer: like Sylvia Plath...only happy. But she put her dream aside to marry a doctor (Bakula)...before discovering that he has no bedside manner! Unhappy, unfulfilled and decidedly unsatisfied, she attempts to find bliss in a hotel room with a handsome stranger. But when the man she checks in with checks out for goodleaving behind only a smiling corpse and a shocking identity Marjorie will have to cover up the body and the affair...or she may as well write off the rest ofher life!Carl Reiner, who paired with Steve Martin in The Jerk, takes another rewarding gamble in Sibling Rivalry, matching comic actress Kirstie Alley with a screwball tale of mistaken identities, three sets of siblings, and a pesky corpse. Alley plays a neglected wife encouraged by her sister (Jami Gertz) to have a fling; when she does precisely that with a handsome stranger (Sam Elliott), he no! t only dies in bed but turns out to be a long-lost brother-in-law. Further complicating matters is a salesman (Bill Pullman) who thinks he inadvertently killed Elliott's character, plus a lot of doctor jokes (Carrie Fisher plays a bullying gynecologist married to a protologist) and a deadpan cop (Ed O'Neill). The screenplay's comic complications take a little too long to reach critical mass, but when they do, Reiner masterfully controls the essential screwball timing and Alley, Pullman, Gertz, and screen veterans John Randolph and Frances Sternhagen thoroughly deliver. --Tom KeoghIt's hard to believe something that is all around us is just now becoming something more and more doctors are turning to as a treatment option for the symptoms of major illnesses like cancer and HIV, but it's true.

Hira Pandit (Mahima Chaudhury) is an actress who is nothing if not full of herself. Arrogant and thriving on only one thing - people adoring her unabashedly, and without stopping, just loving her! So naturally when this adoration stars to wane, she can't take it. Her vanity can't bear the fact that her popularity is slipping, that she's not getting nominated for awards, that her films simply aren't working like they used to. And at this fragile juncture of her life she runs into Digambar (Priyanshu Chatterjee), an old friend, whom she used to lovingly call Digs. Somewhere along the way, their lives had traveled down different paths. He's a drunkard, an ex-lawyer now very much out of work, who makes a living, singing in a cheap bar. He's counted the days and months and year since they last met but on this night when they accidentally meet he makes the one mistake that he shouldn't have...he criticizes Hira. He tells her that she needs to reinvent herself, do new work, and be less predictable on screen. This sends her into a tizzy, but it also sends her towards events that change her life forever. Hira finds herself the bona-fide drama, a real-life one, one that will surely take her back to the top! It's the story of a loving, traditional wife, the murder of her husband, a father-in-law who heads a non-political but powerful organization and the secrets that lie behind the closed doors of his "bhavan". A volatile world, which she enters purely to exploit for her own ends - is also the one that soon takes over her whole life. She begins to get attached to the women whose juicy story she had wanted just for film. She begins to see the strength in her lawyer friend whom she had merely considered a failure till now. As celluloid clashes with reality, it changes her forever.Bhoothnath Poster (11 x 17 Inches - 28cm x 44cm) (2008) India Style A reproduction poster print

The most suspenseful thriller of the year explores just how far we will go to protect ourselves and our country. When a nuclear expert-turned-extremist (Michael Sheen, Underworld) plants devices in three separate cities, the country's counter-terrorism force springs into action and captures him. But the location of his bombs remains a mystery. With time running out, FBI agent Helen Brody (Carrie-Anne Moss, Disturbia) agrees to work alongside a mysterious interrogator known only as "H" (Samuel L. Jackson, Lakeview Terrace), whose ruthless methods get results. But a power struggle develops between Brody, "H', and the terrorist, and what happens next is unbelievable and -ultimately-Unthinkable!Unthinkable will give people of all political persuasions plenty to argue about. A terrorist named Arthu! r Younger (Michael Sheen, Frost/Nixon) has planted nuclear bombs in three American cities, then allowed himself to be arrested. The government, desperate to find these bombs, turns Younger over to a man known only as H (Samuel L. Jackson), who will use any means to extract information from Younger, despite the protests of FBI agent Helen Brody (Carrie-Anne Moss, Memento), who argues that torture doesn't produce viable data. Though Unthinkable is driven by this debate, the plot moves forward propulsively, never getting bogged down in rhetoric, and it carefully grounds this fantasy scenario (Younger is to real terrorists as Hannibal Lecter is to real serial killers) in realistic textures and details. It helps that the cast is crammed with talented characters actors, including Martin Donovan (The Opposite of Sex), Stephen Root (NewsRadio), and a lot of faces you'll recognize, even if you don't know their names. More importantly, Unthinkabl! e gives weight to both perspectives and doesn't pull its p! unches a bout what torture entails. The final moment will provoke the most debate: does it bring the argument to a conclusion, or are the filmmakers just picking the most flamboyant ending? --Bret FetzerIn SUSPECT ZERO, FBI Agent Tom Mackelway finds himself caught in a cat-and-mouse game with a brutal serial killer, and all clues point to a renegade agent "gone native." Trained by the government to use his psychic abilities to track and capture other serial killers, the renegade is killing other serial killers and claims to be in pursuit of the ultimate serial killer, a man he calls Suspect Zero. As Mackelway becomes increasingly obsessed with his suspect, he must decide what happens when pursuer and prey come face to face Ć¢€" and if rational justice or primal revenge will prevail. If you're into serial-killer thrillers, you'll want to see Suspect Zero if only to soak up the genre's reliable penchant for creepy atmosphere and creepier behavior. Dark, anguished, and sat! urated with superficial style, it's a passable exercise in mystery from E. Elias Merhige, who fared better (both critically and artistically) with his acclaimed 2001 film Shadow of the Vampire. The directorial vision evident in that film is also apparent here, but it's pretentiously over-indulged in a grisly plot about the tormented victim of a secret, psychically abusive crime-fighting program (Ben Kingsley) whose pursuit of serial killers in New Mexico is designed to lure a similarly tormented FBI agent (Aaron Eckhart) and his understanding partner (Carrie-Anne Moss) into an investigation that grows increasingly violent and tragically intense. Like Eckhart's character, you may need a handful of aspirin after subjecting yourself to Merhige's visual excess, but as yet another variant of Seven, Suspect Zero scores points for attempting something different. --Jeff ShannonThis item comes with a certificate of authenticity from LCG Signatures.Signed ! 8x10 By Carrie-Ann Moss, Cassidy Rae, Kylie Travis and Teresa ! The Classic Korean Movie Dvd with Engllish Sub

  • 1 Dvd
  • NTSC ALL REGION
THE CLASSIC is about two love stories that are divided by a gap of three decades, one in the 1960~70s' period and the other in the present time. Other films set in the past, such as BET ON MY DISCO and WET DREAMS have employed the kitsch code and are too childish, but THE CLASSIC distinguishes itself from these films with a sophisticated and composed depiction of both past and present. It aimed thus to help the audience experience nostalgia and to deliver to them the visual images of a beautiful and innocent love. With Special Features: deleted scenes, Music video and trailers.

The Hills Run Red

  • A film fanatic's obsession with finding a complete print of aic slasher movie leads him and two friends into the backwoods where the film was shot. They realize too late that filming never ended -- the movie's star, the deformed, murderous BABY FACE, and his twisted family continue to film and kill unsuspecting victims. Now our heroes must survive the nightmarish onslaught or become part of the mo
You heard the story. The one about the goriest, bloodiest splatter flick ever, the one made in the Ć¢€™80s but mysteriously lost. Flash forward to now: Young cinema buffs search for the secret location where the movie was shot, hoping to find the film. What they find is that the goriest, bloodiest splatter flick ever is more than a movie. ItĆ¢€™s real. And itĆ¢€™s happening to them. The Hills Run Red with a whole new level of horror as the terrified interlopers confront a demented killer who covers his! hacked-up face with a babydoll mask. Wait, Babyface is just a character from the movie, right? Wrong. HeĆ¢€™s alive. HeĆ¢€™s waiting. HeĆ¢€™s thrilled to meet fans who will die Ć¢€" slowly, gruesomely, shockingly Ć¢€" for his art. Roll camera! There was once a film so terrifying, so incredibly scary, that it only briefly played theaters and was immediately suppressed. And possibly destroyed. Never heard of it? That's because this urban-legend mystery exists in director Dave Parker's The Hills Run Red, a clever little number about a group of young cineastes on the trail of the aforementioned movie. Would-be filmmaker Tyler (Tad Hilgenbrinck) finds a stripper named Alexa (Sophie Monk), who just happens to be the daughter of the mysterious director of the legendary lost film; Tyler drags two other friends (Janet Montgomery, Alex Wyndham) into the woods to research the location shooting of that fabled project. Since these characters are all hip in a post-Scream way to ! the dangers of young people going off into the woods, there's ! plenty o f self-conscious humor about horror-movie clichƃ©s. Sure enough, once they leave civilization, the inbred weirdos and secret hiding places and gothically bizarre torture implements begin to crop up. The movie gets points for being clever, and there's at least one great plot-shifting moment (it involves the word fetch); but once the blood starts running, a familiar series of lacerations and punctures fills in for character development. Veteran character actor William Sadler runs a few variations on the classic bad guy, and Parker introduces a mask-wearing, knife-wielding killer who's clearly meant to join the ranks of Jason and Pinhead and other slasher icons. Call himĆ¢€¦ Babyface! In other words, not terrible for a direct-to-DVD offering from the Dark Castle company, but not great. The Babyface sequel can't be far off. --Robert Horton
